Please check-in with your students about their current school supplies. Many students are in need of expo markers, pencils, tape, and earbuds. We do our best to supply these items when students are in need but it would be so helpful for students to have items of their own for projects and classwork. Thank you so much for your support! Students were assigned this project prior to the break and we are all very excited about it! As we enter into our Research Writing unit it is important that students have a personal connection with the topics they choose. By doing some family research we hope that students will stumble upon experiences, place, people, etc. that they find interested and want to do their project on. Please don't hesitate to contact Ms. Condon with any questions! Checkout our coding activities with Pro-Bots below! Students did a great job programming these devices to move using their knowledge of angles! What is air? In Science we are learning so much about the invisible space around us and how it comprises our atmosphere. After jumping into the phases of matter, students now have a clear understanding of what makes a solid, liquid, or a gas. Now we are exploring the layers of the atmosphere. Ask your students about our Google Expedition to the Mesosphere! We wrapped up our study of the vikings before the winter break! This included a fun STEM activity where students needed to build a viking ship that would support as many "Vikings" (blocks) as possible before sinking! Students will begin their study of the Age of Exploration next. Thank you to everyone for all your kind words and support throughout conferences and the holidays. I feel so lucky to work with your students each and every day! I am sending everyone positive wishes for a happy and healthy New Year!
